Brittney – Insurance Coordinator
Brittney joined our team in 2023 and has been in the dental field for over 9 years; her kind mannerisms and friendly smile welcome you as you come in the door or call on the phone! She works hard to make sure your insurance pays for your treatment and always finds a way to fit someone in on our busy hygiene schedule! Outside of the office you will find Brittney with her husband Tyler enjoying traveling, the beach, baking, and spending time with family.
Teresa – Dental Assistant
Teresa started her career as a dental assistant in 1985, graduating from Indian River Community College. She has been with our practice since 1994. As a very talented assistant, she creates beautiful temporaries and is a whiz when it comes to anything in the lab. No matter what, Teresa is sure to put a smile on your face. Teresa also enjoys spending time with her family boating and scuba diving. In Teresa’s off time, she can be found with the newest member of her family, her granddaughter Tessa who is the light of her life!
Janel – Dental Assistant
Janel was first introduced to us while interning in the 2011 Dental Assisting Program at Indian River State College. In the office you will see Janel chair side helping patients during treatment with her calm demeanor as she is Dr. Scures’ head assistant. Outside the office you will most likely catch Janel along the beach or fishing accompanied by her husband Josh, daughter Breeah and their son Emmitt. The perfect little Florida wildlife family!
Joana – Dental Assistant
Joana came to us as an intern from Indian River State College in the spring of 2015 and we hired her on full time in July. In the office, you will find Joana assisting the dentists chairside or helping in the front office. She is invested in helping patients have a wonderful experience while they are here. Outside of the office, you can always find her hands and knees deep in a mountain of sand creating a construction site with her boys Enzo, Royce and her husband Juan.
Lorraine – Registered Dental Hygienist
Lorraine is new to our practice but we feel like she has always been with us! Graduating from IRCC Dental Hygiene program in 1991 with fellow hygienist Marcela, Lorraine has fit right in! She values everyone she sees and loves to build a relationship with her patients while helping them to achieve and maintain a gorgeous healthy smile! Outside of the office Lorraine spends most days with her family and enjoys working out with her daughter Emily at the gym. Lorraine is also the proud mommy to 5 Beagles and the newest addition Ellie May, her schnoodle.
Susan – Registered Dental Hygienist
Susan actually started with our team temping as a clinical assistant while in hygiene school back in 2001. We met Susan through her aunt Marcela! Susan worked locally in hygiene until she retired during covid. In 2022 we were fortunate enough to have Susan come out of retirement part time to help care for our wonderful patients. When Susan is not working or with her large extended family, you’ll find her around town at local events, shopping, or boating. She loves spending time with her husband Randall, 2 beautiful daughters Isabella and Angelina and her Frenchie Betty White.
Taylor – Registered Dental Hygienist
Taylor joined our team in 2022, after getting her hygiene license in 2020. Taylor knows her way around the dental office starting in 2013 working both front desk and as a clinical assistant. In her free time Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband Jason and her two kids Jarvy and Lyla.
Marcela – Registered Dental Hygienist
Marcela is originally from Chile; she became a team member after graduating from IRCC Dental Hygiene program in 1991. She is well known for her communication skills and bright beautiful smile. She prides herself in devoting time to patient education and comfort. When Marcela is not working, she can be found spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her granddaughter Emma is in her freshman year at La Salle University in Philadelphia, and is part of the rowing team. Marcela also flies to Cape Cod often to play with granddaughters Lydia and Vivian and grandson Weston.
Kara – Hygiene Coordinator
Kara joined our team in 2025 and is a recent transplant from Arizona. She started her dental career in New Mexico as a dental assistant, filling in wherever needed and eventually found her role as a front desk administrator. Kara will be the first smiling face to greet you when you arrive for your appointment. Her duties include answering calls and scheduling appointments. When she is not working with her friends at the office, she loves to enjoy the great outdoors with her husband and their two dogs.
Kim – Dental Assistant
Kim graduated dental assisting school in 2020 and joined our team in 2024 as a dental assistant to both Dr. Gouldsberry and Dr. Scures-Gutierrez. She is bilingual and works alongside the Dr’s to make sure you are comfortable and well cared for. When not in the office she loves to spend time with her husband Adrian and Benji, their fur baby. She enjoys running, traveling and experimenting with sourdough.
