They are both from Florida, Miami and Winter Park respectively and were attracted to the small town appeal of Sebastian and the proximity to the ocean. They have two grown children, Chase and Zoey who are pursuing they own careers in aviation and orthodontics.

After practicing for 38 years, Pete retired from dentistry in July of 2022 The intention has always been to preserve the philosophy and integrity of our practice by passing it along to the next generation. The doctors invited Dr. Adam Gouldsberry to move from his home state of California to be a part of the team. He and Zoey attended dental school together at University of Pacific and with encouragement from all of us , Adam made the leap!

Kathy and Adam are enjoying sharing patient care and the energy that comes with new collaboration. We share the same vision for our practice , that relationships with our patients is paramount, and that every person deserve to be treated with exquisite care.

Meet Dr. Katherine Scures-Gutierrez

Dr. Katherine Scures-Gutierrez attended the University of Florida followed by Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She continued her education at the internationally renowned LD Pankey Institute where she learned concepts of complete dentistry. Skills in comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning were honed. A patient centered approach to taking care of people became the practice philosophy.

She is well trained in the treatment of temporal mandibular joint disorder, commonly referred to as TMJ or TMD, and complex reconstruction of the teeth and occlusion. Implant restoration is an integral part of our practice, restoring function and esthetics when replacing missing teeth. The doctor has participated in an implant study group for 20 years, keeping up with the latest techniques and treatment options. What drives Kathy is getting to know her patients, understanding their desires and goals for oral health and smile. She became a dentist for her love of esthetics. Creating beautiful smiles is a blend of art & science and the most rewarding part of dentistry.

In her free time she enjoys painting, tennis and time on the water. Travel is a passion especially when biking is involved too! She enjoys visiting her son Chase and his wife, Natalie in Hawaii. He is a pilot for Delta Airlines living where the waves are! She is fortunate to have her daughter in town with her family. Zoey’s practice is Dr. Zoey Orthodontics in Vero Beach next to her husband Andrew Nickel, a pediatric dentist!
